About the Show/Event
Heather Shields is a multidisciplinary artist whose work as an actor, award-winning dancer, and painter spans theatre, film, and television. While never formally trained in the visual arts, Heather has enjoyed painting from a young age. She has her M.A. in Depth Psychology with Specialization in Jungian Analysis and Archetypal Studies, and following in Carl Jung’s footsteps, many of her paintings are visceral expressions of the unconscious and her inner world. She also has a fascination with the night sky and a deep commitment to social justice, both of which occasionally feature as the subject matter of her paintings. Her art can be seen in Latinas Acting Up’s upcoming short, “La Luz.” She also conducts theoretical research in psychology and enjoys playing poker.
